Song: The Moon Alone.

The equations of creation are complex beyond expression,
And a day is not a measure that's precise enough to use.
All the sets were pre-defined, but still we're chasing the suggestion
Of the shadow of the starting point a creator's hand might choose.

Can you show me evolution in a series of restrictions,
Can you find a cosmic hyperspace complex enough to hold
All the possibles and primes, and all the plural-point predictions,
All the factors and the functions that are waiting to unfold?

And the moon alone was a series of miracles,
An orbiting expression of the math that makes us real,
And every time it circles us, it adds another layer
To the ongoing equation that our complex words conceal...

The equations of creation are unfurled all around us,
And a day is not a measure that is large enough to show
The deterministic systems into which the math has bound us,
And since answers stop the questions, it is better we don't know.

Can you find the chaos theory that makes poets out of people,
Can you find the simple sequence that commands us to explore?
Can you find the cold equation that builds castles, raises steeples,
Leaves our heads filled full of numbers while our minds cry out for more?

And the moon alone was a series of miracles,
An orbiting expression of the math that makes us real,
And every time it circles us, it adds another layer
To the ongoing equation that our complex words conceal...

The equations of creation have an elegance inside them,
And I hope the mathematician knows the way they will resolve,
For the world is full of miracles with common things to hide them,
And when man is faced with mysteries, he sees more things to solve.
